Onze laatste workshop over de klassieke kunsten. We hebben gekeken naar de echte gesso-techniek, het malen van droge pigmenten met arabische gom en eitempera. We gebruikten een klassieke portretcompositie en een heel korte blik op bladgoud. In de toekomst zal ik deze workshop nog een week uitbreiden om het bladgoud wat dieper te verkennen. De zwarte achtergrond benadrukt de subtiele details in de lichtere delen van de uil. Er werden enkele goed beheerste uilenportretten gemaakt die realistisch, gedetailleerd en een sfeer hadden. Een hele prestatie.
Our last workshop on the classical arts. We looked at the real gesso technique, grinding dry pigments, with gum arabic and egg tempera. We used a classic portrait composition and a very brief look at gold leaf. In the future I will expand this workshop a week further to explore the gold leaf a little deeper. The black background emphasizes the subtle details in the lighter parts of the owl. Some well mastered owl portraits where produced that where realistic, well detailed and had a sense of atmosphere about them. Quite an achievement.
