Ferro Rod 6"x1/2" Bushcraft Compasses Give them the gift ofFerrocerium is a man made metallic material that produces hot sparks at temperatures of about 1,650 C (3,000 F) when scraped against a rough surface (pyrophoricity), such as ridged steel. Many high carbon steels will create a spark but the ferro rod is the most widely used fire making tool. These sparks can be used to catch all kinds of tinder sources on fire. This is the most bomb proof modern fire making tool you can bring with you to create fire.
